9/7/16 Planetside Update

Highlights:

Some starter weapons have some attachments included by default to help new players.

Semi-auto sniper weapons buffed and certain ones like the Spectre have the new ballistics computer attachment by default that eliminates scope sway.

Scope sway removed from 6x scopes that are not sniper weapons.

Vehicle weapons get 1.25x zoom unlocked automatically and equipped by default.

No refunds for these changes.

New Chameleon Module added for infiltrators that eliminate shimmer when shot - also grants ability energy when shattered.

Light Assaults can use new Flight Suit option for increased fuel capacity.

Medics get new Nano-Regen Capacitor option which speeds up the recharge on the Nano Regen device.

New Auxiliary Shield option for all classes grants an extra 50 shields, but a few weapons got buffed to compensate.  See full notes for info.

Triage for medics greatly buffed by more than double, and the lowest rank is now automatic and default.

Jump Jets have been buffed for lower ranks only.

Drifter Jump Jets buffed, see notes for details.

Nano-Armor cloak now shimmers when shot but it passively increases shields by 100.

All ranks of the repair tool can now get rid of mines.

Auto repair for ESFs kick in 4 seconds faster.  Also engineers piloting them automatically gives an ESF rank 1 auto repair after the old 12 second delay by default.  Does not stack with auto repair option.

Changes made to starter loadouts.

New camo selection UI.  Finally.

3 point capture bases can now be captured faster at both 2/3 and 3/3 points captured.

Melee weapons buffed.  See notes for details.

Air to air photon pods ranged increased.  Coyotes nerfed.  Air Hammer nerfed.  Light PPA buffed.  Slight buff to high capacity fuel tanks.

Texture qualities now changed so that High is Ultra, Medium is High and so on.

Underbarrel smoke grenades have new sounds.

ANTs now get mineral radar as a passive, 1st rank is free, but the certs will be refunded so you need to repurchase up to max rank again.

Victory Points for capture now requires 20 but you start out with 5-6 by default on a continent that just opened due to territory control granting points.

Silos now have a light indicating power.

Structure shield module shields have been nerfed, see notes for details.

Flash can now get gate shield defusors.

Archer can destroy small deployables in one shot.

Lots and lots of bug fixes and additional odds and ends - includes supposed fix for smoking vehicles that smoke forever.  See full notes for details.

9/1/16 Overwatch Patch

Highlights:

New Eichenwalde map.

Season 2 ranked mode with new rank calculations and systems.

Symmetra now has a number indicating how many teleport charges are left.  When giving ult status with a teleporter up, she states the number of charges in text.

Torb A.I. added.

New emotes and skins added.

Hanzo movement buffs but projectile size shrank.

Several Genji nerfs.

Lucio speed buff has been nerfed a little.

Mei Blizzard buffed to go through walls and objects, and is now bigger, too.

Mercy healing has been buffed and rezzed allies can start moving sooner.

Roadhog Hook isn't quite so ridiculous anymore.

Zenyatta's Orb of Discord only debuffs by 30%, however his own damage has been buffed to compensate.  Same kill potential for Zenyatta, but it lowers kill speed for teammates.

Watchpoint Gibraltar's first checkpoint is gone.

You can now turn on teammate health bars.

Overwatch Patch 8/2/16

Highlights:

New summer 'seasonal games' from now until Aug 22, with seasonal loot boxes.  Play Lucioball and read about the mode and unlockables HERE.

Players that leave a competitive mode match before it ends must wait at least 10 minutes before they can start another match.

Added Lucio A.I. to various modes.

Minor matchmaking improvements.

Character selection tips adjusted.

Many bug fixes.  See full notes for details.

HERO BALANCE UPDATES

Ana

    Biotic Rifle
        Rate of fire increased by 20%
        Magazine size increased from 8 to 10


Developer Comments: While Ana has been very well received, she was showing to be a little bit weaker overall. In addition to helping her feel better to play, these changes should also increase her healing and damage output.

McCree

    Peacemaker
        Primary Fire
            Damage falloff range decreased by 10 meters
                Damage falloff amount is unchanged
                As a result, even with this change, McCree’s effective range is still higher than it was at launch
        Alternate Fire
            Rate of fire increased by 15%
    Flashbang
        Recovery time (i.e. the amount of time before McCree can fire again) decreased from 0.5 seconds to 0.35 seconds


Developer Comments: McCree’s latest range increase helped him quite a bit, but it was a bit too much in the right hands. This change weakens his long range damage somewhat, but still keeps it stronger than it has been in the recent past. The other changes combine to allow him to land more alternate fire shots on targets that he has hit with Flashbang.

BUG FIXES

Heroes

    Targets of Ana’s Sleep Dart will no longer instantly recover when damaged (recovery time is now 0.5 seconds)



User Interface

    Fixed UI compatibility issues for ATI cards
    Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause Lúcio, Mei, and other models to only partially render (or disappear)

Overwatch Ana Patch is Live

Highlights:

New character Ana added to the Support characters.

Overtime countdown is faster.

Competitive mode no longer allows hero stacking.

Self-healing now charges ultimates, and because of that, some ults have a slightly higher cost.

D.Va's Defense Matrix now has a meter instead of a cooldown, and is set as the right mouse button.  Lasts 4 seconds straight but recharges automatically when not in use.  D.Va's ultimate also takes less to charge, explodes one second sooner, and no longer hurts her, allowing her to run around firing during it.
Slight McCree changes, better damage at long range, but extreme ranges deal less.

Mercy requires more to charge ultimate, but can now move around during the animation of resurrect.  Cannot stack her damage boost with other Mercys.  When using ult, it also recharges Guardian Angel flight instantly.

Roadhog - big nerf to his ult charge, likely due to being able to charge it with self-heals.

Soldier 76 fix for the zero recoil exploit.

Zenyatta has 200 health now, both buff/debuff orbs move 4x as fast, slight nerf to primary fire, slight buff to alt fire, and Transcendence makes him move twice as fast while healing has been buffed to 300 per sec.

Mouse sensitivity can by typed in now and allows decimals (yay!)

Shrank hitboxes for Hanzo arrows and Zen beads.
